Reston, VA · Local advisory

Tax and DCAA advisory for Reston's contractors and technology companies.

From Reston Town Center to the Silver Line corridor, Reston is one of the country's leading hubs for government contractors and technology companies. Our advisors support Reston businesses from first contract to acquisition.

What we handle

What Reston clients ask us about

Reston's federal contractors need accounting systems that pass DCAA review, defensible indirect rates and timely incurred cost submissions, while technology companies here look to the R&D credit and immediate expensing of research costs under section 174A. We bring both government contracting and tax expertise to the same engagement.

Reston was planned as a place to live, work and play, and many owners and senior employees of local companies live nearby. We help them with equity compensation, Virginia pass-through entity tax planning and IRS matters.

Questions

Frequently asked

If your question isn't here, call (703) 880-8412 and you'll reach a person.

Can you prepare our incurred cost submission?

Yes. We prepare incurred cost submissions under FAR 52.216-7 and support contractors through DCAA audits.

Do government contractors qualify for the R&D credit?

Sometimes. Research funded by the government under the contract generally does not qualify, but internally funded development often does. We review contract terms to decide.

Do you have an office near Reston?

Our headquarters is in Ashburn, a short drive from Reston. We meet Reston clients at our office, at theirs or by video.

Can you represent me before the IRS?

Yes. Our CPAs represent individuals and businesses in IRS examinations, appeals and collections nationwide under a Form 2848 power of attorney.
