San Francisco, CA · Local advisory

Tax and advisory for San Francisco startups and their people.

San Francisco and the Bay Area are the center of venture-backed technology. Our advisors work with founders, startups and employees on equity, credits and California tax, remotely with on-site visits as needed.

What we handle

What San Francisco clients ask us about

Startups here need research credits and section 174A planning, the payroll tax offset, 83(b) elections and clean financials for investors. San Francisco also imposes its own gross receipts and payroll-related business taxes, which change as companies grow.

Employees and founders hold RSUs, ISOs and secondary sale proceeds, and many eventually leave California. We plan equity events, residency changes that hold up to Franchise Tax Board review, and represent clients in IRS and FTB audits.
